Evidence, Insight and Management of Lumbopelvic & Hip Disorders
The Management of Lumbo-pelvic Disorders course is designed to improve clinician confidence and competence when working with patients presenting with low back and hip conditions.
Participants will develop practical assessment and clinical reasoning skills that help classify patients, select appropriate interventions, and progress rehabilitation in a purposeful and patient-centred manner.

The course integrates evidence-informed manual therapy, exercise prescription, pain science, and communication strategies. Clinicians will learn high-yield techniques and treatment approaches that can be immediately applied in practice while developing a deeper understanding of how to build patient self-efficacy, resilience, and long-term outcomes.
By the end of the course, participants will have a clear framework for managing lumbo-pelvic disorders and the confidence to integrate new knowledge and skills into their clinical practice.

Meet the instructor
Steve Young graduated summa cum laude from McMaster University’s physiotherapy program in 1999 after completing his undergrad at the University of Victoria. With over two decades in private practice, he’s taken and organized countless courses in orthopaedics and pain science, sharing his expertise as a Senior Clinical Educator for CBI Health and teaching across North America. He is practicing physiotherapist at Tall Tree Health in Cordova Bay.
A former Chief Editor for the Orthopaedic Division Review, Steve has published in multiple journals, presented at national conferences, and was honored with PABC’s Clinical Excellence Award in 2014 and in 2024. He continues to blend cutting-edge research, manual therapy, and pain science into his practice, now also teaching with the renowned Evidence In Motion Institute.

Meet the instructor
Curtis Tait became a physiotherapist in 2012 after studying kinesiology at UVic and earning his degree from UBC. A lifelong learner, he’s trained in manual therapy, IMS/dry needling, vestibular rehab, neuro rehab, and chronic pain management, working in private practice, pain management, and neuro-rehabilitation.
With expertise in sports injuries, spinal pain, concussions, vestibular disorders, and chronic pain, Curtis blends evidence-based care with hands-on treatment. He completed post-grad training with the Evidence In Motion Institute and was drawn to Tall Tree Health’s commitment to innovation, fun, and clinical excellence.
Outside of work, he’s adventuring through BC with his family, hitting the mountains, playing basketball, and capturing it all through his lens.
